I think that it’s good to have baseball. I think that it will bring people together more and it will build D.C. up a little bit more. I have no problem with where it’s being built. If they can afford [the proposed $440 million spending], then I think it’s fine. I don’t agree that [that it will take away resources from other needed things].

I don’t think that we need one, with everything else that we need especially for children, as far as schools. We don’t need a baseball stadium; we have too many children out here who need an education. I don’t think that we need one at all; I really don’t. They could build it in Ward 7, 6, 1 or 2. If they were talking about something that was going to be for the children, then I would be all for it.

I think it would help generate more jobs for a lot of people. It has its pros and cons because for the area that it’s going to be in, you gotta knock down a lot of the houses in Southeast and Southwest and I think that’s a problem. They could make a lot more affordable housing for people. It will generate more jobs; it will bring more people to the city.

I oppose the baseball stadium and the reason why is that the United States, instead of giving the money away to White folks and the Whites getting richer and we getting poorer, so that ain’t no benefit to us. I don’t agree with it because [RFK Stadium] hasn’t been paid for. So, why should they put another stadium here when the other one hasn’t been paid yet?

I love the idea. It will bring a lot of jobs to an area where it’s needed. I’m not accurate on the exact location but it is, as I know now, an industrial area. It will bring some positive and exciting ideas to that community. I think the idea is good; we need some positive activity in this area
