What is your knowledge of the crisis in Sudan

All I know about it is what I read in an article. And it didn’t say much about it in the article. So, I have no idea. I could actually read more about it; I really could. I do have time to read but I just don’t more than likely. But also we could put stuff in the Hilltop and the college newspapers instead of just putting it in the local newspapers. I’m a Political Science major so we do have to talk about stuff like that but it’s mostly Iraq. |

As far as humans being sold? From what I know (I’m really not a history buff or anything like that), slavery might still be going on there in some kind of way and America is not doing anything to help those types of people over there. I think that something definitely needs to be done. America steps into a lot issues and this is something that America should look at stepping into. |

If it’s coming on the news, I must be missing it. I might have seen glimpses of it but I must be missing it. Because I’ve been trying to keep in tap with the news lately but I don’t know much about the Sudan crisis. [It’s probably ignored] because it’s going on in Africa. With the war in Iraq and the election, that’s taken a lot from people. The people who are being beheading and voting [are the focus right now]. |

I only know what I get from CNN. Weekly, they just let you know the same thing over and over again. They never change what they say; the news is always the same. I know that the news that we get here is a little more watered down than the world news. If I was getting my main information from BBC, I think I’d have more in depth knowledge of what exactly is going on. |

I am just assuming that we are dealing with the same types of problems that we had in the past where you have a rival rebel army trying to overtake a certain part of the government because they’re not getting their food, supplies- that kind of stuff. Not enough coverage is going on about that. I kind of think that the [Bush] Administration should want us to talk about that to get us off of the bad things that are going on in Iraq. |
