Full Medical Scholarships for African-Americans
Washington University in St. Louis, the Medical School, now ranked number 2 (along with Baltimore's John's Hopkins University Medical School) has scholarships to award to bright Black Americans. MSI's Internship Program
MSI (www.msiworldwide.com) offers part-time semester and full-time summer paid Internships (not for graduates looking for fulltime jobs) for undergraduate, graduate and high school, students in the Washington, DC area who have an interest and experience in international development. Our internship program (about 20 hours per week) covers each of the distinct units within MSI: Project Management, Accounting, Contracting, and Business Development.

Our goal is to allow students to learn and grow professionally during their internship and provide each student with opportunities to use and refine their own skills. MSI takes great care to ensure that interns are well engaged in the work community. Upon arrival at MSI, interns are given a brief orientation introducing them to some of the tools that they will need for their internship. Project Management interns are assigned to work on specific MSI projects as well as support tasks. As often as possible, we match interns with projects that best suit both their skills and interests.

The Emma Bowen Foundation is recruiting minority high school students (juniors, seniors) and college freshman for several PAID summer internships at media (television, radio, cable) companies throughout the United States. The internships will start Summer 2006 and last throughout their college years. The Emma L. Bowen Foundation is a partnership of media companies (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Comcast, Discovery, ESPN, C-SPAN, Lifetime, Time Warner, Clear Channel Communications, etc.) whose primary mission is to "change the face of the media industry" through direct work experience and professional development. Since our inception in 1989, we have placed hundreds of high school and college students in media internships.

Criteria

Eligible candidates must have at least a 3.0 GPA, plan or attend a 4-year college, and have an interest in the media. Selected students will be paid an hourly salary and earn matching scholarship dollars to help pay for college expenses.

Young People to Mobilize Against Failed Abstinence-Only Programs
Advocates for Youth is launching two new campaigns to mobilize young people across the country in opposition to ineffective and dangerous programs that censor information about condoms. The Rights.Respect.Responsibility - Keep It REAL campaign and the Rights.Respect.Responsibility - Fix the Gap campaign both build upon Advocates' Youth Activist Network (YAN), a group comprised of more than 15,000 youth from communities across the country. Historically Black Knoxville College, in East Tennessee, has reduced its Tuition from $5,000 to $1,400 per student including room, board, and books! All you need is $600 for
the enrollment deposit and $800 can be paid in four monthly installments of $200 each.

The program is funded by corporate sponsors and guarantees a college education where students graduate debt free.

Enrollment requirements include a high school diploma and a 2.0/4.0 scale. If your student has below a 2.0, but you know they are college material, they may be considered provided they get three letters of recommendation.

College Scholarships for Individuals with Parents with Disabilities

In recognition of the more than nine million parents with disabilities in the U.S. and their families, Through the Looking Glass(TLG), non-profit organization, is pleased to announce the 2006 College Scholarship Fund specifically for graduating high school seniors who have parents with disabilities.

Scholarships funds are available to graduating high school students who:
1. demonstrate academic and personal achievement; 2. have grown up with at least one parent with a disability; and 3. will be a high school graduate or graduating senior by Summer 2006.

Up to ten separate $1,000 awards will be given out in Summer 2006. These awards are one of several projects of Through the Looking Glass'National Resource Center for Parents with Disabilities. This National Center is funded by the National Institute on Disability Research and Rehabilitation (NIDRR), U.S. Department of Education.

2006 Summer Clerical Program
The Department of State is seeking enthusiastic, energetic, self-starters to provide clerical support throughout the Department. The Department of State offers opportunities to get first hand experience in various fields.  Students from all majors can make a real difference by helping build and keep positive relationships between America and the rest of the world.
