Virginia hospitals are admitting coronavirus patients at a rate not seen since early June, with most of the increase coming from hospitals in the eastern part of the state.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association on Tuesday reported 1,294 patients in hospitals throughout the state, up from 1,200 on Monday and the highest number since June 3, InsideNoVa reported.
However, the number of Northern Virginia patients remains low with 209, while the highest in the state, 544, exists in eastern Virginia, which has seen a recent surge in cases.
The state health department reported 922 new cases Tuesday with 206 of those in Northern Virginia.
