Education Secretary Betsy DeVos announced her resignation Thursday in the waning days of the Trump administration following the unprecedented takeover of the U.S. Capitol a day before.

DeVos also blamed Trump for inciting the violent attack on the building, which resulted in five deaths, including a Capitol Police officer.

“That behavior was unconscionable for our country. There is no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation, and it is the inflection point for me,” DeVos said in her resignation letter to the president, the Wall Street Journal reported. “Impressionable children are watching all this, and they are learning from us.”

DeVos is the second Cabinet secretary to resign over the melee, following Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, who announced earlier in the day that she would step down Monday.
