The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its women’s basketball weekly honors where Howard University seniors Ayonna Williams (Washington) and Imani Bryant (Berkeley, Calif.) claimed a pair of accolades.

The announcement came Tuesday morning on Christmas Eve.

Williams earned her second MEAC Player of the Week award of the season while Bryant won the conference’s top defender honor for the first time this year.

In Saturday’s (Dec. 21) victory at George Mason, Williams produced a season-best 28 points, including 17 points in the fourth, while Bryant filled the stat sheet, registering a season-high 12 points, seven boards, three steals and three blocks in the win.

With the victory, HU extended its winning streak to a season-high four games.

Coppin State’s Alexandria Hamilton took home MEAC Rookie of the Week.

Howard (8-4) concludes its schedule at SEC foe Tennessee. The action is set for Sunday (Dec. 29) at 2 p.m.
