I found your article, “Alzheimer’s – Recognizing the Symptoms, Signs and Stages,” in the November 12, 2015 edition of the Washington Informer to be very personal and touching. I use those words to describe your article because I too had a loved one suffer with Alzheimer’s disease. The difference between your situation and mine is that you did the research while my family and I just watched our loved one waste away. I think we were in denial and didn’t want to admit it to ourselves, and before we knew it, it was too late. It is a very difficult thing to see someone you love go through such a debilitating disease. So thank you for writing that article; it helps to read about someone who is going through some of the same things we went through. It sounds like you love your mother very much and are doing all the things to ensure that she gets whatever she needs to continue being as normal as possible for as long as possible. I want you to know that you and your mother are in my prayers and I do believe that God will make things better.

Informer Continues Proud Family Tradition
I live in a senior citizen apartment building in Washington, D.C., and getting a copy of your paper every Thursday is one of the highlights of my week. I make sure I’m first in line to get my copy when it is delivered. I just love reading your paper. I remember when Dr. Calvin Rolark first started The Washington Informer and also I remember listening to him on his radio show. I am sure he would be proud of what his daughter, Denise Rolark Barnes, continues to do in publishing The Informer. It says a lot about a father when his children can step up and carry on doing something that he started. When I listened to Dr. Rolark I always felt he was doing something great and seeing The Informer published every Thursday is a testament to him. I wish nothing but the best for The Washington Informer because it is what Washington, D.C. is all about.
