Maryland on Wednesday reported fewer than 100 new daily coronavirus cases for the first time since the outset of the pandemic in March 2020.

Maryland reported 65 new coronavirus infections, the first time that the total has been in double-digits since March 25, 2020, Baltimore’s WJZ-TV reported.

The state’s testing positivity rate is currently 1.39%, well below the recommended rate of 5%.

As of Thursday, Maryland has 460,194 confirmed coronavirus cases and 9,414 virus-related deaths, according to a state-run tracker. So far, roughly 70% of the state’s adult population has received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine.
