Michelle Williams, former member of the Grammy-winning group Destiny’s Child, will star next month in “Respect: The Music of Aretha Franklin,” a tribute to the career of the legendary singer.

The show will take place Saturday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater in southwest D.C.

Williams will star alongside the American Pops Orchestra in showcasing the music of “The Queen of Soul,” including “Natural Woman,” “Chain of Fools, “Spanish Harlem” and “Since You’ve Been Gone.”

Other performers include Moya Angela (“America’s Got Talent,” “In Transit,” “Dreamgirls”), Ariana Debose (“Hamilton,” “A Bronx Tale”), D.C.-born actress and singer Nova Payton and jazz artist Bria Skonberg.

Franklin, whose career spans more than six decades, has won 18 Grammys and sold 75 million records.
