The Washington Nationals have been cleared to slightly ramp up attendance for its home games this season, meaning about 5,000 more fans will now be allowed inside Nationals Park.
With the increase in the fan capacity to 25% at Nationals Park approved by the Bowser administration, more game tickets will be available for purchase.
The increase means the capacity restriction will ease from 5,000 to 10,000, WTOP reported. The park’s normal capacity is 41,313.
Prices start at $14, and according to team officials, they will be sold in “socially distanced pods” of up to six tickets, WTOP reported.
With the coronavirus pandemic still raging in D.C., the team requires fans to wear face coverings and to enter the park according to a color-coded gate location listed on their ticket.
Season-ticket holders will have priority in games attendance and the team said it plans to expand capacity even more in the weeks ahead.
More single-game tickets can be bought for the Washington Nationals’ four-game homestand against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which will start Thursday. Additional tickets will be available for the April 19-21 series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
