Back in the day, there was a soap opera called “As The World Turns.” Well, I watched it until it finally went off the air. Last week, the Lord placed that title in my spirit as a Religion Corner article. He was speaking into my spirit about all of the changes that are going on down here on earth right now, and in every country too!

We have the pandemic, where nearly 3 million people worldwide have lost their lives, businesses have been shut down, and food lines have become miles-long in some major cities. Churches had to close their doors due to the fact that we are not allowed to be in proximity with one another, so we are all using Zoom and other sources for worship.

My company contract was canceled, and I had to let all of my staff go. Thank God I hadn’t spent every dime of my money and had a savings account! Just notice that as the world turns, we are losing more lives daily. You say, “That’s not new, we have always lost people daily!” True. However, of course, it’s now even more noticeable — our death rates have grown exponentially, and in many cities, there are hardly any beds left in hospitals!

As the world turns, there are some who have made deadly decisions to skip the vaccines, yet they have chosen to participate in family gatherings, or even try to make some extra money as they had done previously by driving Uber or Lyft without taking the necessary precautions, and lost their lives early by catching a severe case of COVID-19, as someone in my family did. My relative lost her husband to COVID-19, because he did not take the necessary precautions and they thought his condition was not severe enough to be in the hospital. Yet he died right in his bed, at home, last week. The couple were both sick with COVID-19 but chose to not take the shots.

The world, however, is still turning, even though her husband is gone, and it appears she will be fine now. Some folks just have to get off planet Earth during this pandemic. Obviously, this was his stop!

I’m very grateful that I have gotten both doses of my Moderna vaccines, and I’m still taking the necessary precautions. There is no one left here from more than 100 years ago to remind us what happened back then, but history books and videos are doing a sufficient job. We must also listen to our top doctors like Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention team leaders and other experts, which is why I have decided to say something. Hopefully, it will encourage anyone who may be reading this column but refuses to get the vaccine. Think again!

I’m reminded of a Scripture in Exodus 12:13 KJV, which says, “Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. Praise the Lord, Saints, for I can feel the power of our Lord and Savior, protecting me and my family and loved ones. I have walked by faith and not by sight, and will continue to do so.”

Let us stay vigilant, get your vaccines against COVID-19, and continue to follow the doctors’ orders. Once you get your vaccine, you will be protected, but most importantly, you will also be protecting others. Don’t hold grudges and animosity against anyone, go to sleep with a clear conscience; God is love! Scripture also says in Matthew 22:37-40 KJV, “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”

When we follow these simple steps, it won’t matter when your name is called, because you will be ye also ready, at all times. Then once you’re gone, the world will continue to keep right on turning!
