Top Regional Leaders to Convene for Annual Business Forum

Each year, the two governors and mayor of the National Capital Region share the stage at the Capital Region Business Forum to address the most critical, pressing issues and opportunities that affect the District of Columbia, state of Maryland, and Commonwealth of Virginia.
This year’s event, hosted jointly by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce, will be held at the new MGM National Harbor at National Harbor, where the leaders will more specifically discuss their plans to work cooperatively to bolster the regional economy in an ever-competitive global marketplace.
“This important public forum for our two governors and mayor often acts as the catalyst for action such as metro funding, trade missions and even last year’s opioid agreement,” said Terry McCallister, chair/CEO, WGL Holdings and 2017 chair, Greater Washington Board of Trade. “The Board of Trade proudly partners with our colleague organizations to present this special event.”
David Harrington, Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce president/CEO, added that being part of the annual forum constitutes a step in the right direction. “Working together to secure, maintain, and cultivate healthy business partnerships within the metro area is essential to having a voice in this nation,” he said.
“We are thrilled to bring these leaders together to address the issues our region faces,” said Jim Corcoran, Northern Virginia Chamber President/CEO. “We must continue to work together to plot a course for the future that will grow our regional economy and set us on a path to success for decades to come.”
