North Korea has threatened to test a hydrogen bomb over the Pacific Ocean, in response to President Donald Trump’s provocative remarks aimed at North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his first United Nations speech this week.
Kim said Trump would “pay dearly” for his threats and that he “will consider with seriousness exercising of a corresponding, highest level of hard-line countermeasure in history.”
Trump, who said during Tuesday’s U.N. speech that America would “totally destroy” North Korea if it attacks the U.S. or its allies, also expanded sanctions Thursday to further isolate North Korea.
Kim said he would “surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire.”
Trump responded early Friday morning in a tweet: “Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn’t mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before.”
