The legendary actress and civil rights activist Cicely Tyson died last week at the age of 96. How will you remember the icon?

Howard Sewell, Woodridge, Va.
She made some awesome films and always portrayed the Black woman as being very strong, yet humble and wise. Her skills were awesome and she had a great beauty about her that still lingers.

Stephanie L., Washington, D.C.

Such a great talent who brought her characters to life. She’ll truly be missed. Praying for her family.

Ida Bourne, Jackson, Miss.
Rest in heavenly peace! My prayers are with the family. She made such a positive impact on Black women as a whole and within our lives. What a beautiful queen and a legendary icon.

Frederica Daniel, Washington, D.C.
I know she was 96, but I actually thought she had many more good years in her. She was strong and gorgeous. I am glad she lived a long, fruitful and inspiring life.
