Seven D.C. residents died Monday of coronavirus complications, bringing the cityโ€™s total to 112 as the Districtโ€™s overall number of coronavirus cases surpassed 3,000.

As of Monday, the District reported 171 new positive cases of COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus, putting the overall positive case total at 3,098.

The cityโ€™s seven latest COVID-19-related deaths, all Black senior citizens, include four women and three men with ages ranging from 68 to 86.

Meanwhile, Metropolitan Police Department officers continue to use a script when encountering a group of people who are not properly social distancing.

Officers also have personal protective equipment (PPE) to use in accordance with Mayor Muriel Bowserโ€™s order and when interacting with someone who may be displaying COVID-19 symptoms or when they must provide critical aid such as CPR.
