Rapper Kanye West, who joined a peaceful march Thursday on Chicago’s South Side that was organized by Chicago public school students and others, is donating $2 million to support the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery.
He is also creating a college fund for Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter, as well as paying legal fees for all three families.
Some of West’s benevolence will also go toward helping struggling Black-owned businesses in Chicago, West’s hometown.
