Sen. Kamala Harris (D), along with the National Wildlife Federation and others aligned with the final installment of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundationโ€™s Virtual Brain Trust series, will host โ€œWater Justice in a Global Pandemic,โ€ from 3 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. ET Thursday.

In addition to Harris, featured remarks during the virtual event will be provided by Monica Lewis-Patrick, president and CEO of We the People of Detroit; Jacqueline Patterson, director of the NAACPโ€™s Environmental and Climate Justice program; Dr. Afia Zakiya, senior fellow at the CBCFโ€™s Water Infrastructure and Workforce Development, and others.

The coronavirus health crisis has highlighted the urgency to address water justice and equity issues across the nation. In July, Harris announced the Water Justice Act which would invest $250 billion into three main facets of our nationโ€™s water infrastructure: safe water, affordable water, and sustainable water.
