Former first lady Michelle Obama wrapped the opening night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention with a searing keynote speech denouncing President Donald Trump as โthe wrong personโ to lead the country, while touting the partyโs likely presidential candidate Joe Biden as the man who would return competency and decency to the White House.
Obama, in a prerecorded message, accused Trump of tearing the country apart the past four years, focusing on his lack of empathy and character, as well as other situations that have brought out her frustration with his administration.
โWe have got to vote like our lives depend on it,โ she said, adding that Trump โsimply cannot be who we need him to be for us.โ
The former first lady implored people to go to the polls on Nov. 3 to vote for Biden, calling him an โhonest, decent manโ who has the capacity to learn from his mistakes and will govern as someone โwhoโs lived a life that the rest of us can recognize.โ
