Almost 30 teenagers are quarantining after parents in Attleboro, Mass., knowingly sent their COVID-19-positive child to school, the townโs mayor and schools superintendent said.
The infected student attended classes at Attleboro High School Monday, but the school wasnโt notified of the diagnosis, according to a letter Attleboro Public Schools Superintendent David Sawyer sent to families Tuesday, CNN reported.
School officials didnโt identify the student and family.
Twenty-eight students who had close contact with the infected pupil have been notified and asked to quarantine for 14 days, Sawyer said.
โThe parents used very poor judgment,โ Attleboro Mayor Paul Heroux said, CNN reported. โItโs very frustrating. The school department did everything they were supposed to do.โ
