The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is set to present โBSO Fusion: The Resurrection Mixtapeโ a genre-blending performance that intertwines the sounds of hip-hop greats Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. with Gustav Mahlerโs monumental โResurrectionโ symphony at The Music Center at Strathmore on Friday at 8 p.m.
Arranged and curated by composer Steve Hackman, the performance will provide an exploration of life, death, legacy, struggle and triumph. Featured guest performers include Jecorey Arthur and Marcus Tenney, who join Steve and the BSO musicians to emcee while songstress India Carney provides vocals; musicians TaRon Lockett and Bobby Wooten provide additional music layers while on the drums and electric bass, respectively.
Concertgoers can expect to sing and dance along to hits like โDear Mama,โ โJuicy,โ โCalifornia Loveโ and โHypnotize.โ
Before the concert, guests are urged to arrive early to enjoy food and beverages provided by Allegro Kitchen and a curated hip-hop playlist.
