The D.C. Mayorโ€™s Office of Veteran Affairs is honoring the cityโ€™s history of military service this week with informational banners installed at the District Pier on The Wharf and the 1600 block of 14th Street NW.

The banners recognize D.C. veterans who have been awarded the Medal of Honor.

Also, in honor of Veterans Day, the office, in cooperation with the Mayorโ€™s Office of LGBTQ Affairs, will host a virtual roundtable Thursday with several of the cityโ€™s LGBTQ veterans.

The discussion, which will air on the Office of Veteran Affairsโ€™ WebEx channel, will include D.C. veteran LGBTQ stakeholders from Capital Pride, DC VA Med Center, OutServe, DC Center and several others.

Upon the conclusion of the roundtable, resource providers in attendance will offer feedback on topics discussed and how they can assist veterans or their families.
