Pepco Holdings named Amber Perry as vice president of Governmental and External Affairs and region president for Pepco, the utility announced.

Perry will oversee state and external affairs strategies for Pepco while working to strengthen relationships with stakeholders in the company’s Washington, D.C., and Maryland service areas, including elected officials and civic, community and business leaders.

“Amber has a strong track record of building strategic initiatives that bring together diverse perspectives to create meaningful impact,” said Valencia McClure, senior vice president of Governmental, Regulatory and External Affairs for Pepco. “Her strong ties to the Washington, D.C., metro area offer valuable insight that will help guide our efforts to continue delivering reliable service to our customers and support thriving communities across our service area.”

Perry previously served as vice president of Regulatory Strategy and Services for Pepco Holdings, where she led energy acquisition processes for the company’s three utilities โ€” Pepco, Delmarva Power and Atlantic City Electric โ€” and developed regulatory strategies and clean energy programs in New Jersey and Delaware. She has worked for the Exelon family of companies since 2008. Before joining Exelon, she held finance and information technology roles at Navigant Consulting and Lincoln Financial Group.

A Washington-area native, Perry is active in community and civic organizations. She serves as board president for TasteWise Kids, a nonprofit focused on teaching children about healthy eating habits and the environmental benefits of farming. She also established a STEM Gems Club in Maryland, which provides female role models in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. Perry is a member of the Silver Spring, Maryland, chapter of The Links, Incorporated, an international service organization, where she leads their Services to Youth programming, and serves on the board of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Perry holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University.
