How have you prepared to fill the gap that was created by this current administration and its policies?ย

Ale Wheeler, Southeast D.C.

โ€œIโ€™m not ready. Itโ€™s a surprise to me and everybody.โ€

Penny, Southeast D.C.ย

โ€œI donโ€™t get the food stamps but a lot of my customers where I work at talk about how itโ€™s gonna affect them because they are not prepared. โ€ฆ One of my babies was laid off, heโ€™s using up his credit cards to get by. Another one of my babies say to the rent people like they told me: โ€˜We ainโ€™t got no money so you ain’t getting no money.โ€™โ€ย

Tyrone Washington, Southeast D.C.

โ€œItโ€™s a mess. Iโ€™m month to month. Iโ€™m struggling myself. But the kids are really my concern. What they going to eat?โ€

Mary Lackwell, Southeast D.C.

โ€œI lost half of my income, they took my QNB plan that’s like Part 2 of Medicaidโ€ฆ It hurt me so bad, my income went from $2,000 a month to $1,000. Iโ€™m not meeting my obligations financially and sometimes I go without food. I just hold on โ€ฆ thatโ€™s all I can do.โ€
