The DC Defenders delivered a commanding performance in their 2026 home opener at Audi Field on April 11, overwhelming the Houston Gamblers 45-7 at Audi Field.

The week three victory was highlighted by a 60-yard touchdown run from running back Deon Jackson and a thrilling spectacular 70-yard pick six by cornerback Gareon Conley. The Defenders won by 38 points to secure the largest margin in UFL victory.

Adding to the electric victory and atmosphere, D.C. native and rapper Wale headlined the halftime show as the team celebrated its 2025 UFL championship.

โ€œFor us we just didnโ€™t want to underestimate this team coming in,โ€ said quarterback Jordan Taโ€™amu. โ€œWe wanted to play our D.C. football, our brand right. So Coach [Shannon Harris] preached that all week to start fast and finish faster, and that was like our mentality. Especially coming back to play our first home game after winning last year.โ€

The DC Defenders will be back home at Audi Field for their week four matchup against the St. Louis Battlehawks on Saturday, April 18. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m.
