What issue(s) would you like to see prioritized during the upcoming midterm elections?

Jason Fowler, Huntingtown, Maryland
“Affordability. Rebirth of the American Dream.”

Greg Holmes, Bowie, Maryland
“The two most pressing issues our country faces are accountability and affordability. Our elected officials need to put targeted guardrails on corporations as they seek increasing profits at the expense of affordability for hard-working people. The current track of rising costs is unsustainable and I believe voters are going to send a strong message to incumbents of both political parties that they have had enough!”

Chakeia Blocker, Bryans Road, Maryland
“As we approach the midterm elections, I want to see a stronger focus on economic opportunity, workforce stability, Black maternal health, and mental health. As a former Biden-Harris appointee seeking employment since February, I understand firsthand the impact of economic uncertainty on families. After surviving a near-fatal childbirth experience in 2024, I am especially committed to shifting Black maternal health from crisis response to prevention, ensuring Black women receive comprehensive care, education, and support before, during, and after pregnancy.”

Reginald Martin, Fort Washington, Maryland
“1. Affordability of Course. The average citizen is struggling to keep up with the cost of everyday living. Food, clothing, housing, utilities, gas, and health care. 2. Health care access. Special considerations must be given to mental health access. The time is long overdue for universal health care. No American should be without coverage. 3. Jobs, we need the jobs that pay people a living wage. No more minimum wage, when we know what the actual cost to take care of oneself and family far outpaces our federal minimum wage. No one should have to work multiple jobs just to get by. 4. Restoration of Due Process and the Rule of Law. The levels of lawlessness being displayed at the highest level of our government is astounding. I have never seen the Constitution under attack this way in my lifetime. From the First Amendment to due process, voting rights, women’s reproductive rights and civil rights!”

Chezia Cager, Baltimore
“Affordability and protecting fundamental rights. Families are concerned about the rising cost of everyday necessities, from groceries to health care. At the same time, we must continue protecting civil rights, voting rights, and the freedoms that allow everyone to fully participate in our democracy and pursue opportunity.”
