The Power of Patience: Overcoming Anger from the Inside Out

Whether triggered by difficult people, stress, disappointment, or the challenges of daily life, these states of mind rob peace, damage relationships, and leave people feeling exhausted and unsettled. Although anger may sometimes feel powerful or justified, Buddha taught that it never actually solves any problems — and instead becomes the main source of unhappiness.
In this practical five-week series based on the teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, participants will explore Buddhist methods for understanding anger at its root and transforming it into compassion, acceptance, and genuine inner peace. Through guided meditation and practical advice for daily life, everyone can learn to keep a peaceful heart no matter what challenges arise.
Meetings take place every Thursday through Sept. 10. During the Aug. 27 session, “Patience Is Real Strength,” discover how patience protects the mind and enhances resilience in difficult times.

2026 Negro League East/West All-Star Vintage Baseball Game

Enjoy complimentary admission to a celebration of the rich history of African American baseball, also known as the Negro League East/West Vintage Baseball Game Celebration and 10th Anniversary Auto Showcase Benefit.
Presented by the Negro League Legends Hall of Fame, this annual family-friendly event commemorates the historic 1933 Negro League East-West All-Star Game, honoring the athletes, teams, and communities that helped shape America’s pastime.
The celebration also marks 17 years of preserving Negro League history through education, community engagement, and vintage baseball, and will feature players wearing period throwback uniforms. In addition to the game, attendees can enjoy the 10th Anniversary Auto Showcase Benefit featuring antique, classic, vintage, American, imported, two-wheel, three-wheel, and four-wheel vehicles.
