Pepco Holdings announced Tuesday that Rodney Oddoye will become the company’s next president and chief executive officer, while Nichole Owens has been named chief operating officer in a leadership transition scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
Oddoye, who currently serves as chief operating officer and senior vice president of Pepco Holdings, will succeed Tyler Anthony, who is moving to a new position as executive vice president of operations for Exelon, the parent company of Pepco Holdings.
The company said the leadership changes come at a time when customers and communities across the Mid-Atlantic region are facing rising costs and growing demand for electricity.
During his tenure as president and CEO, Anthony oversaw operations for Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Pepco. The company credited him with advancing major grid modernization investments across Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland and New Jersey, helping improve reliability and customer service while supporting the region’s clean energy transition.
“Leading Pepco Holdings has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” Anthony said in a statement. He reflected on working with employees throughout the region and helping communities navigate challenges ranging from major storms to long-term infrastructure investments.
Oddoye brings more than two decades of utility industry experience to the role. Since joining Pepco Holdings, he has held several senior leadership positions and most recently has overseen electric and gas operations, customer operations, transmission and substations, capital project delivery and engineering support services.
In a statement, Oddoye said he is focused on maintaining reliable energy service, supporting customers’ evolving energy needs and continuing investments in infrastructure across the company’s service territory, which includes Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland and New Jersey.
Joining the executive leadership team is Nichole Owens, who currently serves as vice president of gas operations at BGE. She has more than 25 years of experience in the utility industry, including leadership roles in operations, engineering, emergency response and customer service.
As chief operating officer, Owens will oversee operations for Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Pepco. Company officials cited her extensive operational experience and customer-focused leadership as key strengths she brings to the position.
Pepco Holdings is a unit of Exelon, one of the nation’s largest utility companies. The company oversees operations for Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Pepco, serving more than 2.2 million customers throughout Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland and New Jersey.
