The Milwaukee Bucks are currently three wins away from an NBA title, but team co-owner Valerie Daniels-Carter has already crafted a championship pedigree off the court.
At a young age growing up on 44th and Hampton Streets on Milwaukee’s north side, Daniels-Carter had a love for entrepreneurship, sports and her community, all of which have paid off handsomely for her.
Daniels-Carter, a graduate of Lincoln University of Missouri, a historically Black institution, currently heads a four-state conglomerate of over 100 multi-brand restaurant franchises – Burger King, Pizza Hut, Auntie Anne’s Soft Pretzels and Captain D’s Seafood, among others, according to hbcugameday.com.
Along with her minority stake in the Bucks franchise, Daniels-Carter sits on board of directors of the Green Bay Packers. She also counts NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal as one of her business partners.
“I’m God-made,” she recently told Milwaukee’s local NBC affiliate. “I have been blessed to work all of my life. When I started this journey, I had a mission, and I have been able to achieve it.”
