Prince Georgeโs County Public Schools have begun cracking down on unvaccinated employees who havenโt complied with a mandate to provide a weekly negative COVID-19 test result, the school system said this week.
PGCPS spokesperson Meghan Gebresalassie told WUSA-TV (Channel 9) that disciplinary action has begun against those employees, but couldnโt say how many have been placed on leave so far.
However, Gebresalassie said the school system has no desire to institute a vaccine mandate for workers.
PGCPS CEO Monica Goldson announced in August that all of the systemโs roughly 19,000 employees were required to provide proof of vaccination or submit to weekly testing.
So far, more than 3,400 have yet to be vaccinated, WUSA reported.
