Tom Brady was stellar as usual, going 29-36 for 299 yards and two touchdowns. The Redskins defense did manage to pick off Brady for just the second time this season and actually kept the score respectable, but the gameโs outcome was never in doubt, as Washingtonโs offense was stifled by the Patriotsโ D and plagued by dropped passes.
Kirk Cousins tacked on a meaningless touchdown pass in the final minute, but was otherwise neutralized, going 22-40 for 217 yards and tossing an interception of his own.
Despite the loss, Washington (3-5) remains in the hunt in the underwhelming NFC East. Theyโll come back home next Sunday to face the New Orleans Saints, which has won three of its past four games.
