Renowned national talk radio host and human rights activist Joe Madison has signed a new exclusive multiyear contract with SiriusXM.

Under the new long-term agreement, โ€œJoe Madison The Black Eagle,โ€ which broadcasts from SiriusXMโ€™s studios in D.C., will continue to air daily from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET on SiriusXMโ€™s Urban View channel 126, On Demand and through the SiriusXM app.

โ€œJoe is the foundation of our Urban View channel, a tireless campaigner for social change and one of the best interviewers working in radio today,โ€ said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM president and chief content officer. โ€œWe are thrilled to have him exclusively on SiriusXM and look forward to many more years of great radio with Joe.โ€

Widely recognized by the talk media industry, Urban Viewโ€™s marquee host has interviewed an impressive roster of top world leaders โ€” including President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on multiple occasions โ€” and regularly welcomes members of Congress, community leaders, diplomats and other notable guests.

โ€œI am very proud of the daily conversations we are having on our daily SiriusXM show,โ€ Madison said. โ€œAt a critical time for our nation, when politics and race relations seem to be the driving forces behind the news, I feel honored to have the continued opportunity to have this influential platform that helps affect change.โ€

In early 2015, Madison hosted a special record-setting 52-hour broadcast of his SiriusXM show and raised more than $250,000 for the Smithsonianโ€™s National Museum of African American History and Culture. He later broadcasted the show live during the museumโ€™s historic inauguration.

Madison was named a finalist by the National Association of Black Journalists for the documentary, โ€œUSA & Cuba Reconnectedโ€ based on his historic broadcast from Cuba in June 2015, the first national American radio talk broadcast from the island nation in more than 50 years.

Additional accolades include being a recipient of the Civil Rights Outstanding Leadership Justice by Action Award, the highest honor given by the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement (NOBLE) and regularly placing in Talkers Magazine โ€œHeavy Hundredโ€ list.

A former executive director for the NAACP in Detroit, Madison has served on the National Board of Directors of the NAACP and is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the American Red Cross.

Madison, who joined SiriusXM in 2001, was recently named a 2017 nominee for induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame.

The Urban View channel is the radio home of diverse African-American programming on SiriusXM.
