The name of your newspaper is The Washington Informer, but I am so happy you cover so many events in Prince Georgeโs County. Without the coverage from The Informer, I wouldnโt be aware of most of the things happening in the county. For instance, William J. Fordโs article โPrince Georgeโs Breaks Ground on New Training Complex;โ if I hadnโt read it in The Informer, I wouldnโt have known anything about it. This is real important to me, and frankly speaking, it should be to everyone who lives in this area. The people being trained at this facility are folks that we in the community may very well encounter someday, and if that happens, hopefully the training they received will help them make the right decisions on how to appropriately deal with us in the community. To me, the $46 million will be well worth it.

Minor League Football a Major Coup
I am writing you in reference to an article I read in your July 27 edition of The Washington Informer by Martell Pegues, โMinor Football League Seeks to Develop Future NFL Players.โ All I can say is, โitโs about time.โ There are so many young men who finish playing college football who donโt make the NFL, and they need a place to continue playing a sport that they have probably played most of their lives. A minor football league is a perfect. I hope the NFL gets fully behind this league. The one thing that concerns me is that without the full support of the NFL, the medical and injury issues may not be fully addressed. If that happens, I say, โgo for it.โ There are probably hundreds of young men waiting to get a chance to play organized football once again.
