We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? — John 4:19-21 (KJV)
We are all human — you, me, all of us. Therefore, we do occasionally slip and retreat from our highest self into judgment, criticism and condemnation, but this is not a rationale for choosing to practice that kind of interaction. Once you only tell yourself that when you finally get it, and send only love to another of God’s children, instead of judging and criticizing them, you will get the immediate result of inner contentment.
Send love in place of those judgments and criticisms to others when you feel they are causing you to lose your joy and happiness. Instead, hold them in that place of love. Notice that if you stay steadfast, says Wayne Dyer: “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
Let’s take a look at a small meditation you can do to end on love. Picture yourself at the termination of an argument or major dispute with a friend, family member or loved one. Rather than reacting with old patterns of residual anger, revenge, and hurt; visualize you offering kindness, love and forgiveness instead.
Do this right now by sending out these “true virtue” thoughts to any resentment you’re currently carrying. Make this short statement one of your standard responses to any future problems, arguments, disagreements or any type altercation, just say out loud: I end on love, no matter what!
Now let’s see how scripture addresses the need to ‘Send Love.’ John 13:34 says — A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. Then, 1 John 4:11 – Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
As I work daily to improve the quality of my own life, often I find myself going back to a class that I took at All Nations Baptist Church called “The Spirit Filled Temperament.” For me, this was a life-changing course.
Temperament describes your strengths and weaknesses. God has given Christians the Holy Spirit, who is able to improve our natural strengths and overcome our weaknesses — as we cooperate with Him. He has a creative way of helping each of understand how we function, based on the book of Proverbs 30: 11-14, when the wise man saw four kinds of people.
It is a person’s temperament that makes them outgoing and extroverted or shy and introverted. Character, however is the real you. The Bible refers to it as “the hidden person of the heart 1 Peter 3:4. It is the result of your natural temperament modified by childhood training, education and basic attitudes, beliefs, principles and motivations. It is sometimes referred to as “the soul” which is your mind, emotions and will.
The good news is that God has given us the Holy Spirit to help us overcome our flesh and to walk in the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Gallatians 5:22-23. All of these scriptures taken into consideration, when we live by premise that people are who they are, and you are who you are, it is not up to you to change anybody. As they allow the Holy Spirit to change their negative temperaments, it can and will be done. Then everyone can love you because they will see a difference, and we who understands how this temperament thing works will send love.
