About Us
We are The Washington Informer, a Black, woman-owned multimedia news organization serving African Americans in the DMV. With over 60 years of experience spanning three generations, we are dedicated to delivering accurate, timely, and essential information, earning the trust of our audience along the way.
Since 1964, The Washington Informer has been a trusted voice for our community, documenting the struggles and triumphs that have shaped Washington, DC and the nation. From the March on Washington to the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama, we’ve educated, informed, and celebrated the stories of African Americans, preserving their legacy at the heart of history.
The Washington Informer can be your microphone in the African American Community in order help you with its messaging to those who may not receive it from the mainstream press. We can help you speak directly to the African American Community, which would greatly increase your brand recognition and visibility in our community. The Washington Informer is considered as the “most trusted digital and print” outlet serving The African American Community in the D.C. metro area. Placing your ads with us would bring tremendous value to your outreach and diversity efforts.
Always keep in mind that Culture Comes First – A relationship The Washington Informer can help you with effective outreach to our community and will demonstrate that you are valuing The African American Culture.
Recent actions from the highest levels of government have sought to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, reversing decades of progress. Despite this challenging setback, we view this as an opportunity for businesses, organizations, and stakeholders to reaffirm their core values and demonstrate their commitment to inclusivity, equity, and justice.
