Air quality across Washington, DC received a failing grade in 2025, according to the American Lung Association’s State of the Air report. Still, the data alone doesn’t capture what that means for the people who live here.

The Washington Informer is launching Clearing the Air, a Solutions Journalism series examining the real impact of air pollution across the DMV and highlighting what’s working to address it. Before we report, we want to listen.
