Ladies of Virtue (LOV), an initiative aimed at empowering Black girls aged 9 to 21, is set to make its inaugural appearance in Washington D.C. with the highly anticipated LOV Day event. Founded in Chicago by CEO and Founder Jamila Trimuel, LOV has dedicated the last 15 years to preparing young women for success academically, professionally, and personally while cultivating confidence, purpose, and civic leadership.
LOV Day, traditionally celebrated during Black History Month and Valentine’s Day, is a hallmark event focused on self-love, affirmation, and community care. This event will be held on Saturday, February 28th, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Harriet Elizabeth Brown Community Center, located at 901 Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick, MD, with doors opening to the public at 9:30 am.
This year, LOV will distribute its signature LOV Boxes—thoughtfully curated packages filled with self-care items, affirmations, and educational materials—to 50 girls as part of this year’s event. The distribution will occur in partnership with Stella’s Girls Inc, during the 2nd Annual Love Smart: Navigating Healthy Teen Relationships event. In addition to receiving these empowering boxes, participants will engage in interactive workshops led by community volunteers and corporate partners, aimed at fostering discussions on healthy teen relationships.
