Ladies of Virtue CEO and Founder Jamila Trimuel

Ladies of Virtue (LOV), an initiative aimed at empowering Black girls aged 9 to 21, is set to make its inaugural appearance in Washington D.C. with the highly anticipated LOV Day event. Founded in Chicago by CEO and Founder Jamila Trimuel, LOV has dedicated the last 15 years to preparing young women for success academically, professionally, and personally while cultivating confidence, purpose, and civic leadership.

LOV Day, traditionally celebrated during Black History Month and Valentineโ€™s Day, is a hallmark event focused on self-love, affirmation, and community care. This event will be held on Saturday, February 28th, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Harriet Elizabeth Brown Community Center, located at 901 Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick, MD, with doors opening to the public at 9:30 am.

This year, LOV will distribute its signature LOV Boxesโ€”thoughtfully curated packages filled with self-care items, affirmations, and educational materialsโ€”to 50 girls as part of this year’s event. The distribution will occur in partnership with Stella’s Girls Inc, during the 2nd Annual Love Smart: Navigating Healthy Teen Relationships event. In addition to receiving these empowering boxes, participants will engage in interactive workshops led by community volunteers and corporate partners, aimed at fostering discussions on healthy teen relationships.

“Our mission is to uplift and empower Black girls, ensuring that they feel seen, heard, and loved,” said Jamila Trimuel, founder of Ladies of Virtue. “Bringing LOV Day to D.C. allows us to expand our reach and impact the lives of even more young women. We believe that self-love is the foundation for personal growth and community leadership, and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with our new community.”

The LOV Day event promises to be a transformative experience for attendees, combining education, empowerment, and self-care into a dynamic setting.
