Monumental Sports & Entertainment launched a new content series Friday documenting the transformation of its downtown Washington arena, offering fans behind-the-scenes access to the multimillion-dollar renovation project.

“Building Momentum,” a multi-platform series produced by MSE and presented by strategic partner KPMG, will follow construction progress at Capital One Arena through various formats as the venue undergoes what executives call a once-in-a-generation overhaul.

The series debuts with “The Ground Floor,” hosted by Monumental Sports Network’s Juliana Morgan. The bite-sized social media episodes will explain key upgrades and their impact on fans attending Washington Capitals and Wizards games, concerts and family shows.

“‘Building Momentum’ will give fans a seat at the table as the future of our brand-new arena comes to life,” said Jim Van Stone, MSE’s president of business operations. “We’ve created a compelling, creative series that truly captures the energy and innovation behind this transformation.”

Initial episodes will cover the project timeline, arena technology upgrades, modernized team facilities and new art installations throughout the building.

The series will expand to include “Pardon Our Progress,” featuring interviews with MSE and architecture firm Gensler executives about the arena’s role in downtown revitalization. Additional content will showcase construction updates and KPMG’s analytical support for the project.

Construction is underway on what MSE describes as a high-tech renovation designed to serve millions of annual visitors over the next 25 years. The company said it’s taking a comprehensive approach to create new standards for fan experience and technological innovation.

The transformation is scheduled for completion before the Capitals and Wizards begin their seasons this fall.
