Studio Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Purlie Victorious, Ossie Davis’ 1961 civil rights-era farce.
The production will be directed by Psalmayene 24 and features a nine-member cast led by Warner Miller (as Purlie) and Danaya Esperanza (as Lutiebelle), alongside a mix of Broadway, regional, and D.C.-based actors.
Artistic Director David Muse highlights the play’s blend of sharp comedy and powerful commentary on race in America, noting its renewed relevance today.
