Fred Irby Took Jazz to New Heights at Howard University

Fred Irby III, founder and director of the Howard University Jazz Ensemble, was celebrated for 51 years of service to the university and the jazz community, and was recognized with the Benny Golson Jazz Master Award for his contributions to the preservation of jazz.
