Betty Reid Soskin, the oldest ranger in the history of the National Park Service, spent her life advocating for the recognition of Black contributions to American history, and was honored for her work with the National Women’s History Project, the Silver Medallion from the National World War II Museum, and the Sierra Club’s Trailblazer Award.
