D.C. Student Activists Win ‘First Step’ Vote Passing Green New Deal for Schools

The D.C. State Board of Education passed the “Green New Deal for Schools” resolution, a five-point policy platform developed by the Sunrise Movement, which calls for free, sustainably sourced school lunches, curricula focused on climate justice, opportunities for students to pursue green jobs, and 100% renewable energy for school infrastructure.
