Ebony/Jet Photo Archive Given to Smithsonian African American Museum

The acclaimed Johnson Publishing Company that produced the iconic Ebony and Jet magazines documenting decades of Black life in America has a new home.

**FILE** Vintage copies of Jet magazine are displayed in the offices of Johnson Publishing Company on June 9, 2014, in Chicago. The final print edition of the magazine hits newsstands this month. First published in 1951 and billed as 'The Weekly Negro News Magazine', Jet recently has been published every three weeks with a circulation of 700,000.
