Marion Barry Avenue, a nearly two-mile corridor in Southeast D.C., was renamed to honor the life and legacy of former D.C. Mayor and Ward 8 D.C. Council member Marion S. Barry Jr., and has experienced significant economic and infrastructural development since Barry’s death.
