Amid Pirro’s Announcement, Mural Unveilings Highlight Power of Art and Community

The Anacostia Murals Festival, a 18-day live art exhibition, created 104 murals across five corridors in Northeast and Southeast D.C., including a tribute to The Washington Informer, a Black woman-owned publication, and a portrait of co-founder of Harriet’s Wildest Dreams, NeeNee Taylor, both of which serve as a reminder of the importance of honoring Black stories and activism.
