Engaging Black Churches to Counter the Climate Crisis

Black churches in the DMV are becoming more involved in the work to build awareness in their congregations about the threat of climate change, with the Metropolitan AME Church leading the Smart Surfaces Coalition, East Washington Heights Baptist Church and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church spearheading grant programs, and Varick Memorial AME Zion advocating for the Healthy Homes Act.
