More than a thousand people from around the region blanketed the RFK Stadium grounds to attend the National Cannabis Festival on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 12 noon to 8:00 pm in northeast DC. Advocates, consumers, artists, and vendors participated in this first event to celebrate the progress of the legalization of marijuana in the District of Columbia and across the nation. Individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups, had the opportunity to attend educational seminars, panel discussions, purchase merchandise, and listen to live music by the Backyard Band, Congo Sanchez, and De La Soul.
