As the United States prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, the Black community is questioning what exactly is being celebrated when the promise of America seems increasingly reserved for a select few, as evidenced by the Trump administration’s immigration policies and the minimization of racism in America in orientation materials for new arrivals.
