As the federal government shutdown continues, Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner Patricia Stamper has called for local officials to mandate and coordinate the donation of food from subsidized District grocers to furloughed workers and SNAP recipients, while the Mayor’s Office on Women’s Policy and Initiatives is hosting programming to help those affected find employment and enrichment opportunities.
