District of Columbia residents will be voting in the June 16, 2026, primary elections to determine who will lead the city into the future, with the first Black woman to be elected for three consecutive four-year terms in any major city, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, who has served for 35 years, both stepping down.
