In partnership with the Public Welfare Foundation and its Real Safety D.C. education campaign, The Washington Informer hosted a powerful discussion exploring how communities can create real safety beyond policing and incarceration. On October 24, Washington Informer Publisher Denise Rolark-Barnes convened a one-hour roundtable as part of The Informer’s Let’s Talk video series. Filmed at the historic True Reformer Building on U Street NW, the conversation brought together four D.C. leaders working across faith, business, government, and community sectors to advance innovative solutions to public safety:
- Thomas Penny, Senior Vice President & President, Donohoe Hospitality
- Kristy Love, Executive Director, Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC)
- Eric Weaver, Executive Director, National Association for the Advancement of Returning Citizens (NAARC)
- Rev. Delonte Gholston, Senior Pastor, Peace Fellowship Church; Organizer,
